THYME - Thymus vulgaris
Thyme is a small prostrate, perennial herb that grows to 20-30cm in height. Useful plant for ground cover, rockeries and garden borders, also suitable for container growing. Use the fresh Thyme leaves in soups, casserole, stews, or in seasoning for poultry, meat and fish dishes.
Thyme prefers a dry warm climate. So if you live in a cooler region, grow thyme next to a rock or concrete path so that the heat reflects off of it, onto the plant. Thyme prefers a full sun or partial shade aspect, and enjoys a light, well drained soil.
