One of the best vegetables to grow in the home garden. Black Adder is a prolific bush, that grows very dark green fruit. Fruits can be picked from plant at any stage, though it is recommended to do so when the fruit reaches 15cm long.
Zucchini likes warm weather as it is sensitive to cold weather and frosts. It can be grown in most areas, but the colder it gets, the shorter the growing season will be. Zucchini also deos well grown indoors in containers and in locations where conditions can be controlled to suit the growing plant.
Zucchini can be grown in full sun to partial shade. It grows in a wide range of soils, but good drainage is essential. Zucchini is a heavy feeder and likes heavily fertilised soil. To overcome this problem, water with diluted seaweed solution, or dig in rotten manure and compost. Regular picking will prolong flowering, which inturn mens more fruit.
These have been treated with Thiram which is a fungicide to protect against attack by pre-emergence fungi on sowing.
