 About our site

Hello and welcome to the Rangeview Seeds web site.

I would like to apologize for any difficulties you may have had in accessing our website. We experienced some problems during the transfer of the company that took quite some effort and ingenuity to overcome.
The website is now up and running and we will be continuing to expand our product line over the comming months.

My name is Peter Coxhead and I have been growing and wholesaling vegetable seed for the past ten years. I have been selling to most of the Australian owned packet seed companys in Australia. Shane (the previous owner) who had been been running Rangeview Seeds has, because of health issues, had to sell the business. I saw a great opportunity to expand the product lines and run Rangeview Seeds as a close personal business. The company is now run with the help of friends and WWOOFers in a cooperative and family-like manner, where ideas, decisions and profit is shared amongst the organization. We plan to minimise resource use and thereby minimize waste while maximizing the quality of the product. We strive to become the greenest seed packet company in Australia.

I have had a strong interest in organics since my father worked on a 3000 acre (1200 Ha) biodynamic farm nearly forty years ago. Since then my interest in organic agriculture has only grown. I am strongly opposed to the Genetic Modification of seeds and plants. I was instrumental, when lobbying the Tasmanian Goverment to continue the moratorium on the introduction of genetically modified plant material into Tasmania, in having this moratorium continued for another five years.
I have been a WWOOF (willing workers on organic farms) host for over 20 years and take great pleasure in teaching my guests how to reduce their impact on the earth. I live in a house with no electricity, and strive to keep a closed loop system consuming very little. Our office, in the village, which does use electricity sparingly, is located a 15 minute bicycle ride from my farm.
My greatest desire is to help others achieve the happiness they will find by growing much of their own food, simplifying their lives and gaining a richer knowledge of the natural world through direct experience.
Please enjoy your stay on the site and I hope that you find all you are looking for, whether it be many colors of tomato seed varieties, or books on gardening, or garden ornaments for ambiance, or sprouting seed and sprouters for fresh food year round. We will provide your order by promptly shipping it via Australia Post.
Thank you for your business, we look forward to developing a rewarding relationship with you all.
                                                     Sincerely-    Peter Coxhead
